“Why would I, an apostle of the Sixth Hour, allow myself to be chained to obeying the likes of you, Baron?”

Not all members of The Ministry are satisfied with their nominal association within the Anarchs. These are the most orthodox of Sutekh’s brood; who claim the Red God as their guiding light, and archetypical iconoclast. The sects of the lesser Kindred, the unenlightened and chained, are just proving grounds for the Church. To be welcomed into the fold of the Setite Orthodoxy is to be drawn into a creed dedicated to bodily freedom and spiritual liberation.

It is, purposefully perhaps, a common misconception that the Church of Set is simply a more zealous offshoot of The Ministry. In fact, the relationship between the two broods of Set is much more schismatic; the Orthodox consider the modern Ministry to be heretics - who have forgotten the truth of their blood, and deserted their true God - their Antediluvian - in favor of trifling power amongst the Rabble. This isn’t to say that there aren’t members of The Ministry that join the Church - but that those who don’t are considered as unimportant as the rest of Kindred society, and often met with disdain.

The Church is radically committed to acting in the image of the Red God. They compel their members to liberate themselves not only from their societal shackles, but also their beast, often through ritualistic and spiritual practices. Through a strict hierarchy, and process of induction they call the Gates of Wisdom, the Temple ensures that the message meets the ears of those they deem inclined to accept, and propagate, their faith. The Church of Set still trades in favours, secrets, and vices; all lucrative means of making other Kindred recognise that which binds them; and confront that the reality that their Humanity is doomed to wither, unless they embrace their new nature with open, loving, arms.

In Sutekh’s image, all of the unliving shall learn the freedom of the Beast - or lose themselves trying.
